The Darkmoon Faire is a monthly event in WoW Classic that starts on the first Friday of each month and brings buffs, quests, epic gear, cosmetic gear, pets and two mini-games.

As revealed by the WoW Classic team earlier this month, The first Darkmoon Faire in WoW Classic will get underway this week, with the festivities opening on Monday, February 10. The good news is that the Darkmoon Cards that make up the beasts, elementals, portals, and warlords sets have already started to drop from enemies and bosses in-game.

The latest news from Blizzard confirms: “A gathering of the exotic from around the world and beyond, the Darkmoon Faire is a celebration of the wondrous and mysterious found in Azeroth. “While the Faire spends most of its time in parts unknown, Silas Darkmoon and his enigmatic employees do stop from time to time in Mulgore and Elwynn Forest.“When the Faire is on its way, barkers will stop by Orgrimmar and Ironforge to announce its arrival.

The Darkmoon Faire will always be located at one of two areas. This is either near Goldshire in Elwynn Forest, or next to Thunder Bluff in Mulgore. While both locations are more convenient for a specific faction, there are not any guards in the area to prevent you from entering the faire. The only thing to keep in mind about this is that you will be flagged for PvP if you are on a PvP server and visiting the opposing zone.

Blizzard has been incrementally releasing patches as they existed back in the original game’s launch. While this recreation is almost completely faithful, there have been minor changes in the release cycle to help account for the content droughts that used to exist. Modern players get to experience new content in their favorite old MMO every few months now, with a new raid, Blackwing Lair, releasing shortly afterward on the 12th of February. This brings with it Phase 3, featuring this new raid. However, the planned debut of two new battlegrounds for the competitive Player vs. Player community were released earlier in December to help satiate the community’s desire for new content.
